House FR Varese
A FARMHOUSE ON THE OUTSKIRTS OF VARESE: THE PARK, THE LAKE, THE MONTE ROSA. TRADITION AND MODERNITY.
Near Varese , in a wild and rich in vegetation , stands the farmhouse FR , a small rural building where you can enjoy the beautiful view on the lake and Monte Rosa . The house is part of a family farm and consists of 2 parts of different sizes, the largest of which is in part defined by a wall madeof bricks .
The project of radical restructuring regards the building as a whole and is defined by a different internal distribution with the recovery of part of the attic , by the addition of a mezzanine floor to the first floor and a solar greenhouse on the ground floor . This approach to design / composition is completed with an important work of isolation and the equipment of a modern plant system ( solar panels , radiant floor distribution , home automation ) .
Internally the spaces are followed fluidly from the entrance to the living room to the kitchen with the solar greenhouse that turns into a conservatory / dining room. The new scale iron and wood, light and airy , leading to the first floor where again the fluidity is perceived in the continual surprise of spaces that are linked together : one bedroom , bathroom with double entry, loft, walk-in closet and the room manor that closes the sequence . Everything is open , everything is connected , everything is freedom of movement. Each room has views of the park and the landscape through free openings or framed as filters in masonry panels ' open-work ' . The latter , partly hidden by the previous speakers have all been ' liberated ' and returned to the perception from the inside: the original purpose - to allow the passage of air to dry the hay - is replaced by that of light control and the heat and gives the house shadowy atmosphere and vibrant , full of references to the past but with a strong sense of contemporary living in the succession of spaces.
